Safety performance is a top priority for Maersk Oil. From top management to frontline staff, all employees are committed to an Incident-Free Maersk Oil.
As an outcome of our commitment and focus on Incident-Free operations we have seen a steady decrease in our LTI frequency over the past years. This has been achieved by improving our risk assessment procedures, increasing collaboration with contractors and encouraging a strong reporting culture.
Maersk Oil defines Process Safety as the prevention of major accidents in our range of control or influence, such as those related to explosions, fires, unintentional releases of hazardous materials and energy.
Process Safety involves making sure our facilities are well designed, safely operated and properly maintained. Our stringent approach is designed to help prevent harm to people or the environment. We identify and assess risks that have the potential to become an incident, and take the necessary steps to reduce or eliminate them. At the same time, we prepare for and are ready to respond to potential incidents.
In 2015 4500 employees have completed an Incident-Free Refresher workshop to recommit and reflect on their individual accountability in ensuring a safe Maersk Oil.
